Updated Cost Sharing Procedure for Sponsored Projects

Effective March 1, 2007, appointments for personnel whose effort is cost shared to a sponsored project must be completed with a cost share chartfield combination. The cost share chartfield combination will be determined by the source of funds (E&G, Auxiliary, Research Foundation, FSU Foundation, SRAD, etc.) and will also include the sponsored project number. The cost share chartfield combination will populate on Personnel Activity Reports (PARs) and will help facilitate accurate effort reporting.

The Campus Cost Sharing Procedures posted at http://www.research.fsu.edu/contractsgrants/documents/csprocedures.pdf have been updated to reflect this change.

Sponsored Research Accounting Services recommends detailed training for all department representatives involved in cost share/effort reporting and personnel appointments. The next OMNI-SP-2389: Cost Sharing for Sponsored Projects will be held April 6th. Funding Opportunities

CRC and Cornerstone Updates

Council on Research & Creativity (CRC)
For a listing of CRC awards soon after they are awarded, watch for articles in issues of STATE.

The Developing Scholar and Distinguished Research Professor awardees have been selected.  Please make plans to attend the Faculty Awards program, scheduled for Monday, April 9, in Dodd Hall (Werkmeister Reading Room) to learn who has been selected.  Watch for announcements from the Faculty Awards planners and articles in STATE which will follow the awards program.

Cornerstone
External FSU review of the AHPEG and SSPEG Cornerstone proposals has been completed.  Internal FSU considerations are under way.  Funding decisions will be made on/about April 1.  Stay tuned.

Remember that future DSR forms (aka proposal transmittal forms) related to CRC or Cornerstone programs are to be delivered to Jan Townsend in 109 Westcott (not to the Sponsored Research Services Office).  Note also that the DSR form was modified in January and replaces earlier versions of the form.  See Sponsored Research website/Forms for the latest document and instructions http://www.research.fsu.edu/contractsgrants/forms.html

Please Submit Proposals Timely!

Sponsored Research Services (SRS) is continuing to receive last minute proposals, some of which they have been unable to submit.  Due to the overwhelming system requirements of electronic submissions nationwide and the increased workload of SRS, a new proposal submission policy went into effect in February that requires proposal submittal by 9:00 a.m. three business days prior to the agency deadline to both SRS and the FSU Research Foundation.
