State Funding
This is a note to all principal investigators with state funding or who are considering pursuing state funding. Please be mindful that the state is cutting budgets throughout their agencies. This means that grants may be smaller than originally planned. Additionally, current awards may be reduced as well. Keep this in mind as you spend your funds and plan accordingly.
Equipment Grant – Round Five Opens September 2007
The FSU Research Foundation announces a fifth round of Equipment and Infrastructure Enhancement Grant (EIEG) Program, which allows FSU faculty and staff to obtain equipment and infrastructure enhancing tools that would greatly augment their research and creative activity. The total available funding for this round is $250,000, with grants typically in the $30K-$40K range. To learn more, please click on the title above.
Dr. Werner, Director of Laboratory Animal Resources, Retiring
Dr. Robert Werner, the current director of Florida State University’s Laboratory Animal Resources, will be retiring from FSU at the end of August. Dr. Kathleen Harper, the current assistant director, will be stepping in as interim director effective August 15th. We wish Dr. Werner all the best in his future endeavors and welcome Dr. Harper in her new role.

The Searle Scholars Program deadline is quickly approaching. If you plan to apply, please contact Beth Hodges in the Office of Research for additional information.
