Bill Emerges to Keep Fed. Gov. Open on Oct 1

Today, the House Appropriations Committee released the text of legislation to fund the federal government on a temporary basis from October 1 through December 11. The continuing resolution (CR) provides temporary funding at the prior year's level. The measure is necessary, as Congress has yet to finalize appropriations bills for the new fiscal year. Without approval of a CR, the federal government would be forced to cease nonessential operations next Friday. The package doesn't include support for COVID-19 relief.
