Dept. of Education Details Distribution of COVID-19 Stabilization Funds

The Department of Education has provided details on how it will distribute the $14.5 billion included in an education stabilization fund in the CARES Act to help institutions of higher education and students recover from the COVID-19 crisis. The package requires IHEs to distribute half of the funds received to students in the form of emergency financial aid grants to cover COVID-19 related expenditures such as food and housing. FSU will receive $29,339,828 from the fund.

Congress is currently working on the next phases of COVID-19 relief. FSU continues to work with the broader higher education community to make the case to Congress that additional funds will be needed to help schools make it through the crisis.
