White House Puts Forward $279 Million Five-Year STEM Plan

The Trump Administration has put forward an initiative to increase STEM literacy, diversity, equity, and inclusion as a path to related careers. These efforts will be championed through a proposed five-year program by the administration titled "Charting a Course for Success: America's Strategy for STEM Education." The U.S. Department of Education recently committed $279 million to fund federal programs to improve STEM education. With guidance from the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy's Subcommittee on Federal Coordination in STEM Education (FC-STEM), agencies that are engaged in STEM education will collaborate to develop a plan to achieve the administration's goals and objectives. The plan will be due within 120 days.
