Shortly after Congress left DC for the August recess, President Trump signed the Harry W. Colmery Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2017 into law. The primary provisions of the "Forever GI Bill" include elimination of the previous time limit that veterans had to use benefits, expansion of eligibility to include the National Guard and Reservists as well as any servicemember who receives a Purple Heart, and additional funding to veterans who enter STEM programs.
