Service Spotlight: Research Interest Groups

The FSU Research Development team is offering a new service to faculty researchers who would like to form a Research Interest Group (RIG) around a topic of broad interest to the FSU community.

These RIGs are faculty-driven and allow for university-wide networking on shared research interests. Each RIG’s goals, meeting format and frequency, and eventual outcomes are entirely determined by the members. We help facilitate these groups to provide a platform to develop new collaborations and eventual interdisciplinary research projects.

Services can include:

  • Facilitating regular interest group meetings
  • Building a Microsoft Teams site to provide online collaboration space
  • Disseminating relevant news and/or funding opportunities

While some groups have already been formed, we invite faculty to suggest additional topic areas that they would like to champion. If you are interested in forming a new group, please contact Beth Hodges.
