The eSPEAR certificate series will be replacing the existing in-person Sponsored Research Administration Certificate Series. Unlike the existing certificate, eSPEAR will be offered in a mainly online format in Canvas. This will allow administrators to access the information when needed, rather than waiting for a class to be offered. It will initially be comprised of twelve (12) modules, which must be completed in order.
The eSPEAR courses are currently in development. The full program is scheduled to be completed in early 2020. The individual courses will be available to the FSU research community as they are completed. Once available, these can be taken and completion will provide credit towards earning the certificate.
For information on registering for this certificate series, please visit the eSPEAR Certificate Series Information page.
Note – Those who are currently working through courses in the in-person certificate program should continue to register/complete courses in that program to earn their certificate. These courses will continue to be offered in the upcoming months. Information regarding the end of that program will be shared in the upcoming weeks (including times by which the program will need to be completed and classes will be discontinued). For those who have not begun the in-person certificate program, you may take the courses in order to gain the knowledge covered (with the understanding that the program is being discontinued and you will not be able to complete the full in-person program).
Sponsored Research Administration provides two full-day workshops that follow the life cycle of a sponsored project from funding announcement through close-out of the award. The information and activities are geared toward employees that are new to or have little experience working with sponsored projects. For more information about the workshops please click here.
