Integrating Research and Education

Workshop Overview

This workshop focuses on an important, but often overlooked component of NSF CAREER Proposals: Integrating Education with Research. NSF CAREER awardees are expected to have significant educational activities above and beyond what is normally required of them as an assistant professor. However many young faculty have trouble formulating ideas for education activities, and struggle philosophically with what it means to “integrate research and education”.

Presenters

This workshop is a panel format, featuring Roxanne Hughes and Kari Roberts from the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory’s Center for Integrating Research and Learning, Dr. Austin Mast from the Department of Biological Science, and Dr. Ellen Granger from the Office of Science Teaching Activities.
