Creating a Work/Life Balance as a Faculty Member

Workshop Overview

This workshop explores the impossible, or seemingly impossible, concept: Work/Life Balance.  Faculty members are pulled in a dozen directions.  Classes, committees, research labs, grant projects, grad students and more can threaten to drown even the most resilient of us -- not to mention the lives we lead, or wish we led, off campus.  Homes, children, family, exercise ... sleep.  Is Work/Life Balance even possible in academia?  Be a part of the conversation as FSU professors/researchers Tamara Bertrand Jones and Amy M. Wetherby share their experiences and lessons learned.

Amy M. Wetherby, PhD., Distinguished Research Professor of Clinical Sciences, College of Medicine, Laurel Schendel Professor of Communication Disorders at Florida State University.
