With President Trump releasing his Fiscal Year 2021 budget request to Congress on Feb. 10th, and the election season underway, the landscape of federal funding could look very different. At the Spring 2020 Federal Update Session, FSU’s Director of Federal Relations Jonathan Nurse will provide faculty and staff an outlook on the research and student aid portions of the budget. The session will include a recap how FY20 appropriations worked out and where the new opportunities are, walk through the proposed research allocations in the president’s FY21 request, and explore how the congressional and presidential elections might impact research. Lastly, Nurse will share opportunities for engagement in some of the projects the Office of Federal Relations is working on such as a DOD Day in DC and congressional and federal agency visits to campus.
